In Memory of LT Steven Combs, USN
The Gold Wings Foundation (“Foundation”) is a 501(c)(3)tax exempt, charitable family foundation
organized and established in 2017. The Foundation was established in memory of LT Steven Combs who
was lost at sea on November 22, 2017 after executing an emergency water landing in a crippled C-2A
Greyhound transport plane. Through his efforts 8 of the 11 passengers on board miraculously survived
the crash landing. The Foundation honors his legacy by providing scholarship grants to 12 th grade
students who wish to further their educational pursuits.
Impact
We aim to assist young adults in the pursuit of their goals and dreams by providing financial assistance in memory of our son and brother.
Reach
Our focus is on assisting Berkshire Country high school seniors in their educational pursuits.
